When does Diablo 4 Season 15 start?
Blizzard names September 15, 2026 as the launch date of Season of Hell's Legacy. The official season page names the time: 9:30 a.m. PT, which is 12:30 p.m. ET and 6:30 p.m. CEST, half an hour earlier than previous seasons. The Twitch Drops start at 11 a.m. PT, ninety minutes later.
Diablo 4 Season 15 comes with patch 3.2.1. Blizzard will publish the full patch notes separately once they are finalized, and we will cover them in a dedicated article. What happens before then is explained in our article on the end of Season 14.
Seasonal mechanic: the Splinters of Evil
The dead rise from Pandemonium, and the lost soul of the Horadrim Deckard Cain returns with dire news. Three dark wanderers have returned, each leaving a trail of death. In the seasonal questline you enter their nightmares and defeat the echoes of the three Prime Evils:
- Diablo beneath Tristram Cathedral
- Baal at Arreat Summit
- Mephisto within the Durance of Hate
Each Splinter has its own reputation track with eight modifiers and six upgrades for the Iconic Power. You unlock them through War Plans, and each Splinter modifies different activities:
- Diablo's Splinter of Terror modifies Helltide and Infernal Hordes
- Baal's Splinter of Destruction modifies The Undercity and Lair Bosses
- Mephisto's Splinter of Hatred modifies The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons
- All three modify the Tree of Whispers
Waking Nightmares: Diablo history in three sizes

Waking Nightmares are memories of key events from earlier Diablo games, rebuilt with Diablo 4 visuals and combat. There are three types:
- The largest are multi-level dungeons modeled on Capstone dungeons. They recreate the historic showdowns with the Prime Evils. You meet them first in the questline and can replay them later on Torment tiers. From Torment 10 they appear as the highest Capstone dungeons with more risk and more loot.
- The middle type are standard-length dungeons at fixed locations in the world, such as the Den of Evil from Diablo II.
- The smallest appear suddenly in the open world. Inside waits a one-room encounter, for example with Spider Queen Araneae or waves of dagger-wielding Fallen.
Soul Splinters: eight demonic gems

Soul Splinters are special gems for Diablo 4 Season 15, each tied to a demon or artifact. Every Splinter offers a powerful blessing and carries a burden. You can socket up to three Soul Splinters in your jewelry.
- Splinter of Anguish (Andariel)
- Splinter of Sin (Azmodan)
- Splinter of Lies (Belial)
- Splinter of the Black Soulstone
- Splinter of Pain (Duriel)
- Splinter of the Mother (Lilith)
- Splinter of Hellfire (Na-Krul)
- Splinter of Damnation (Skarn)
Nine Legacy Uniques from 30 years of Diablo

Diablo 4 Season 15 introduces nine Uniques based on relics from the franchise. They arrive with Season 15 but stay in the game permanently on Seasonal and Eternal Realms. Items marked with an asterisk are also available as Unique Charms for the Talisman.
All classes:
- Leoric's Crown (Helm)
- Nemesis Bracers (Gloves) *
- Stone of Jordan (Ring) *
- Squirt's Blouse (Chest) *
- Arioc's Needle (2H Polearm) * – Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn
- Henri's Perquisition (Offhand Focus) * – Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock
- In-Geom (1H Sword) * – Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock
- The Furnace (2H Mace) * – Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
- Messerschmidt's Reaver (2H Axe) – Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
Endgame: shared War Plans

From Diablo 4 Season 15, War Plan reputation is shared between all characters that match in three properties: Eternal or Seasonal, Hardcore or Non-Hardcore and Standard or Solo Self-Found. Every character still keeps its own plans and can distribute the points differently.
The War Plan progress of your Season 14 characters transfers to the Eternal Realm on September 15 and is added up there. For Hardcore, only the progress of living characters counts. From Season 15 on, one living Hardcore character with the same properties is enough, even at level 1. Our War Plans guide explains the system.
Mythic crafting without randomness

Mythic Uniques can still be crafted in three ways: in the Horadric Cube via Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic, at the Jeweler via Rune Crafting and at the Blacksmith via the Mythic Cache. What is new is that the Cube upgrade guarantees a one-to-one transfer. A Tibault's Will with perfect affixes, Tempering and Masterworking becomes the Mythic version with exactly the same values.
The recipe costs more than the other two routes and does not work on non-modifiable items. Transfigured candidates are therefore excluded. Mythics made this way carry a Crafted tag, and you can equip only one Crafted item at a time. Mythics from the Jeweler or the Blacksmith cache do not carry the tag.
Blizzard also reacted to PTR feedback: the Unique versions of Iconic Mythics are gone, and Iconic Mythics stay Mythic-quality only. The Blacksmith's Mythic Cache gets a second option that rolls only Iconic Mythics at the same cost.
Two new Horadric Cube recipes
Affix Value Reroll rerolls the base affixes on gear, Charms and Seals. Greater Affixes, Enchanted affixes, Tempers and Transfigurations are protected, as long as the item is modifiable.
Horadric Reroll applies to Legendary and better Charms and Seals. It grants completely random base affixes without touching Set Bonuses or Unique and Mythic powers. Our Horadric Cube guide explains how every recipe works.
Horadric Post and Rebirth

The Horadric Post is a new mailbox through which Blizzard sends rewards, supplies and commemorative items directly to your account. The system works in one direction only.
Rebirth brings an Eternal character into Diablo 4 Season 15 at level 1. Class, name, appearance and mode are kept. Transmogs, pigments, mounts, pets, portals and headstones saved as part of an ensemble transfer as well. Hours played add up across all Rebirths. You must empty the character completely beforehand, otherwise the items are lost. All details are in our Rebirth guide.
Season Rank, Blessings and Battle Pass

The Season Rank of Diablo 4 Season 15 has nine ranks with over 125 objectives. Roughly 15 percent of the objectives require the Lord of Hatred expansion, including objectives for Rank VIII. The most important rewards:
- Up to 14 Skill Points and up to 42 Paragon points
- Up to 10 Resplendent Sparks plus 5 Mythic Unique Caches
- The Dark Wanderbear pet and the Banner of the Three mount trophy
- 2 Emblems, 2 Titles (Deckard's Confidant) and 4 Title Laurels
- Crafting and Masterworking materials, Lair Boss Keys, Runes, Seals and Talisman Charms
The free Battle Pass Reliquary contains the Eidolon mount, the Eidolon's Barding mount armor and the Ancient Town Portal. For the first time, the armor reliquary holds a dedicated set for every class. The Deluxe Battle Pass costs 2,800 Platinum and unlocks the Archangel of Justice set, the Lordling of Terror pet and the Wings of Justice right away.
Twitch Drop, Game Pass and The Witcher

From September 15, 11 a.m. PT until September 29, 10:59 a.m. PT, Twitch offers the Deforestation two-handed axe. Watch any stream in the Diablo IV category for two hours to earn it. How to link Battle.net and Twitch is explained in our BlizzCon article.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers who link their Battle.net account receive over 50 cosmetics across all classes, including armor sets, mount trophies, a town portal, an emblem and a headstone.
