How the Barbarian plays

The Barbarian is built around the Arsenal system: as the only class, he carries four weapons at once — two one-handers, a two-handed slashing weapon, and a two-handed bludgeoning weapon — and swaps them automatically per skill. Add war shouts that buff you and your party, and a Fury resource that builds up in combat. Few classes can take as much punishment as the Barbarian, and few feel as impactful.

Our S-tier pick is the Whirlwind build: you spin through entire packs as a whirl of steel while bleeds and critical hits scale your damage. The rotation is deliberately simple — keep Whirlwind up, press shouts on cooldown, keep moving. That is exactly what makes the build so dependable in the endgame: high Pit tiers, Helltides, and boss runs are all comfortably doable.

Leveling and endgame

While leveling, Whirlwind comes online with your very first skill points; alternatively, Slash carries you through the campaign just fine.
