About the Diablo 4 tier list

Our tier list ranks all Diablo 4 builds for Season 14 by their actual strength in the current patch — tested in the endgame, not just on paper.

Our rating criteria

Five factors go into every rating: damage output (single target and area), survivability (how much punishment the build can take), farming speed (clear speed in dungeons and Helltides), endgame viability (how far the build gets in the Pit and against lair bosses), and accessibility (how expensive the gear is and how complex the rotation). An S-tier build does not have to be perfect in every category — but the total package must clearly stand above the rest.

What do the tiers mean?

  • S-tier: The strongest builds of the season. They handle every type of content, push the highest Pit tiers, and work even without perfect gear.
  • A-tier: Very strong and fully endgame-viable, but needs somewhat better gear or more fine-tuning than S-tier.
  • B-tier: Solid builds for regular season content with noticeable weaknesses at the high end.
  • C-tier: Works, but with clear limits — mostly fun or theme builds.
  • D-tier: Not recommended right now, e.g. after heavy nerfs.

Meta view and community view

The tier list has two views: the meta view shows the builds we have rated and tested editorially. The community view sorts by player votes and views — this is what the community is actually playing. Both views can be filtered by class and by leveling vs. endgame builds.

The Season 14 meta at a glance

Season 14 is led by the Druid (Storm Shred), Sorcerer (Firering), Necromancer (Golem), Rogue (Penetrating Shot), Spiritborn (Pestilent Swarm), and Barbarian (Whirlwind). The new Warlock enters strong with several A-tier builds — from Apocalypse to Dread Claws. We re-check all ratings after every patch; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. You can find every build in detail in the build overview.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How up to date is the tier list?
The tier list is reviewed after every patch and hotfix. The "last updated" date at the top of the page shows the most recent revision.
Why does the rating differ from other sites?
Tier lists are always a snapshot with their own weighting. We primarily rate real endgame performance (Pit, lair bosses, Helltides) rather than theoretical maximums — so a build may be ranked differently here than elsewhere.
What is the difference between the meta and community view?
The meta view shows editorially rated builds with fixed tier placements. The community view sorts builds by player votes and views — with no editorial rating at all.
Does the tier list apply to Hardcore?
The ratings refer to the regular seasonal mode. For Hardcore, defensive builds (such as Minion Necromancers or tanky Barbarians) gain roughly a tier in value, while pure glass cannons lose one.
