Season of the Awakened Death
When death awakens, it comes for us all.
Season running since June 30, 2026
Dark rituals tear Pandemonium Ruptures open across Sanctuary. Hunt the Death Cult, close the ruptures, and turn any Unique in the game into a Mythic — Season 14 rebuilds how the strongest items are made, adds a Solo Self Found mode and takes the Tower out of beta.
Pandemonium Ruptures
Dark rituals open ruptures all over Sanctuary, most often inside Helltide zones. Closing them earns Glints of Hope, which you redeem at the reputation board in Zarbinzet, and Pandemonium Fragments, the currency behind the new crafting.
There are three kinds. Normal ruptures appear anywhere in the overworld. Surging ruptures take the place of local events inside a Helltide. Colossal ruptures only form in the Fields of Desecration, the world boss arena south-east of Zarbinzet.
After PTR feedback, tears close faster, new ones form faster, and monster density on Normal difficulty was reduced.
Realmwalkers and the Deathtoll Chamber
Realmwalkers return for anyone willing to take on the harder ruptures. Normal ruptures never summon one; surging ruptures give a chance on a mastery completion; colossal ruptures guarantee one.
Beating a Realmwalker opens a portal to the Deathtoll Chamber, a single-room mini dungeon that is the best source of Superior Lair Keys. It can also be reached through a Nightmare Dungeon carrying the Rupture affix.
The Risen and the seasonal lair boss
A new monster family joins the fight: the Risen. Gravehounds drop orbs that empower the Exarch, a special Risen that absorbs every orb it can reach — intercept them before it does.
The seasonal lair Threshold of Madness sits in Zarbinzet. Its boss has the best direct drop rates for both Mythic Uniques and Pandemonium Fragments.
Mythic Uniques 3.0
In Season 14 every Unique can become Mythic. Mythic is no longer a rarity but an item quality you apply. Mythic Uniques are always Ancestral, their unique power is increased by 30 percent, and every other affix rolls at its maximum value.
There are five routes: the Horadric Cube with Pandemonium Fragments, the Jeweler with runes and Resplendent Sparks, direct drops from the seasonal lair boss, Season Rank caches, and rare drops on both realms.
Crafting needs Torment level 70 and a Unique at 850+ item power — five Pandemonium Fragments at the Cube, or 18 specific runes plus three Resplendent Sparks at the Jeweler. The result matches the slot you put in, not necessarily the same unique affix.
One restriction matters: you may equip only one self-crafted Mythic Unique at a time. Mythics that dropped or came from caches are unlimited. Iconic Mythics can no longer be crafted at the Jeweler.
Tower and leaderboards leave beta
The Tower and its leaderboards exit beta with a cosmetic reward track. Rewards are handed out at every leaderboard reset and at the end of the season, on your next login.
Progression rewards cover playing the Tower at all and reaching tier 100. Rank rewards go to the top 1,000, 500, 100, 10 and to first place, each cycle granting a halo cosmetic and a prestige title. New Solo Self Found leaderboards run alongside the existing ones.
Solo Self Found
Solo Self Found is a character state for playing Sanctuary entirely alone: no parties, no trading. Loot, currency and paragon points are shared only with other SSF characters on the same account.
Free trials, couch co-op and the Dark Citadel are unavailable. The choice is permanent for the season; afterwards the character returns as a normal Eternal character. Exclusive SSF Tower leaderboards come with it.
War Plan party sync and quality of life
Patch 3.1 lets a party synchronise its War Plan boards. Everyone has to be in Temis; choosing "New Plan for Party" costs two Marks of El'Druin and needs a unanimous vote, then generates one shared board.
War Plans also gained higher XP scaling from Torment VIII upwards, longer escalation sigil activities and a raised XP base. Helltide progress now counts collected cinders — 75 up to Penitent, 250 from Torment I.
Elsewhere: the obol cap rose to 25,000, the gold cap to 999,999,999,999, mini-map icons were added for Nightmare Dungeon and Pit objects, and boss trophies exist for Astaroth and Bartuc.
Free Warlock trial
From 30 June to 7 July you can play the Warlock for free on Battle.net, Xbox and PlayStation, up to level 30. Buying the Lord of Hatred expansion carries the progress over.
Diablo IV x Overwatch
From the season start, killing elites and champions earns Eye of the Overwatch currency for a free reliquary: two emblems, a mount trophy, three weapon skins, an Overwatch-themed dye and, on completion, Kiriko's Fox Spirit companion. Exclusive Overwatch skins arrive in Tejal's shop the same day.
Season Rank rewards
Nine ranks and more than 120 objectives, all account-wide. The track pays out up to 12 skill points, 42 paragon points, 7 Resplendent Sparks, 5 Mythic Unique caches, the Greystone pet, the "Remains of the Reaper" mount trophy, two emblems, four titles and special title laurels, plus crafting materials, currency and lair boss keys.
Roughly 15 percent of the objectives require Lord of Hatred.
