Diablo 4 Patch 3.1.1: Cheaper Mythics and Dozens of Fixes

Build 72836 cuts the cost of mythic upgrades, cleans up the Season 14 rewards and fixes a pile of class bugs.

Barely two weeks into the Season of Death Awakening, Blizzard has rolled out its first sizeable follow-up with Patch 3.1.1 (Build 72836). There is no new content this time – instead you get noticeably smoother mythic-item farming, a reliable key source in the Deathtoll Chamber, and a long list of fixes for Warlock, Spiritborn, Paladin and the War Plans. The patch has been live on all platforms since July 14, 2026.

The short version: Upgrading to Mythic on the Horadric Cube now costs 4 instead of 5 Pandemonium Fragments. The Corrupted Reaper now drops up to two Fragments. And Deathtoll Chambers are guaranteed to reward at least one Superior Lair Key at high Torment levels.

Farming Mythics just got a lot cheaper

The most important block in this patch is all about mythic items. Several knobs have been loosened – and a real bug fixed that had dried up certain sources entirely.

  • The Upgrade to Mythic recipe on the Horadric Cube now costs 4 instead of 5 Pandemonium Fragments.
  • The Corrupted Reaper now drops up to two Pandemonium Fragments, scaling with Torment level.
  • The repeatable Glints of Hope reputation reward now guarantees a Pandemonium Fragment.
  • Fixed: Certain sources – including Lair Bosses – were failing to drop mythic versions of Uniques at all.
  • Increased the chance that a naturally dropped Mythic rolls as an Iconic Mythic.
  • El'Druin, Sword of Justice has been added to the Mythic Unique Cache from the Blacksmith.

Season 14: rewards and Torment tuning

  • Deathtoll Chambers now always reward at least one Superior Lair Key at high Torment levels.
  • A seasonal Reputation Board was added to Temis.
  • Whisper Caches drop Forgotten Souls again in Torment levels.
  • Tower rewards go to the whole party again instead of just one member.
  • The Season Rank objective Terrorize The Night progresses again.
  • The Nemesis Lair triggers reliably again inside the Corrupted Reaper's Boss Lair.
  • Monsters no longer spawn too far from the Rupture portal.
  • Odds and ends: the beta tag on the Artificer's Obelisk is gone, Tower Halo rewards no longer appear inverted or on mounts, the Solo Self-Found icon shows on the Friends list again, map parts load again in the Dark Refuge dungeon, and the Awakened Exarch's ability no longer ignores your sound settings.

Class fixes in the Expansion

Warlock

The Warlock gets the longest list – mostly around the Talisman sets:

  • The selected Soul Shard is now easier to spot.
  • The Brutal Aspect tooltip preview incorrectly calculated over 100% Attack Speed.
  • Fulcrum of Mefis stacks fell off whenever a dead enemy attacked your demons.
  • The Mefis 2-piece now correctly triggers from the damage your demons take via the 3-piece bonus.
  • Flesh of Abbadon 2-piece stacks were being removed erroneously.

Spiritborn

  • Stinger could sometimes deal more damage than intended.
  • Fiery Soul VFX appeared too large.
  • Wyrdskin gloves failed to show on the character model.

Paladin

  • Damage with Holy was not showing in the Stats and Materials tab.

War Plans and world content

  • The Colossal Foe and Malignant Invasion mutators could cause Bosses to drop no loot.
  • Whisper Ambushes were also failing to drop loot.
  • The Corrupted Reaper wasn't gaining power from Mutators.
  • Planar Tremors were incorrectly applying to Chaos Rift monsters.
  • Marks of El'Druin can now be pinned in the Currency tab.
  • Wretched Vermin could appear in Town during Helltides.
  • Invasion Portals could spawn on top of one another.
  • Rathma could get stuck during the quest A Blade's Weight.

Base game

  • Barbarian: The Bawl variant of Challenging Shout decayed faster than intended.
  • Druid: Toggled skills gained more damage than intended from the Storm Shepherd's Call Talisman set.
  • Rogue: Shadow Clone triggered extra Shrine effects – such as spawning additional Soul Eaters in the Deathtoll Chamber.
  • Pangs of Duriel spawned out of place during the Duriel fight.
  • Several incorrect wardrobe icons were fixed.
  • Plus various performance, stability, clipping and texture fixes.
Watch out for the hidden nerfs: The Stinger fix (Spiritborn) and the Storm Shepherd's Call correction (Druid) are effectively damage reductions. If you run either build, you will hit noticeably softer after this patch.
