Blazing Scream Warlock – Endgame Build
The
Blazing Scream Warlock is an offensive endgame build for Diablo 4 Season 15 built around Blazing Scream as its primary source of damage. The build combines high direct damage with Demonform, Hellfire and the Lava Trails created by
Sigil of Subversion.
The most important Season 15 change comes from
Elegy. Blazing Scream becomes an Archfiend Skill, deals increased damage and gains Skull Splitter for free.
The additional skulls are especially powerful after the Season 15 rework: with Elegy, the Lesser Demon skulls deal the same damage as the main skull.
This creates a strong synergy with
Infernal Homunculus, which increases the damage of Archfiend Skills and grants their Lesser Demon side upgrades for free.
The Eightfold Idol complements this setup by causing Blazing Scream to leave behind the Shadow or Lava Trails of Sigil of Subversion. Since this build uses Sigil of Lava, your Hellfire Skills benefit especially against enemies standing on these trails.
Playstyle
Your main damage skill is Blazing Scream. Cast it as often as possible while using your other skills to maintain Demonform, Hellfire bonuses and Lava Trails.
Through Elegy, Blazing Scream becomes an Archfiend Skill in Season 15 and automatically gains Skull Splitter. The additional Lesser Demon skulls seek out enemies and, thanks to Elegy, deal the same damage as the main skull.
The selected Impact Velocity upgrade makes Movement Speed an offensive stat as well. Blazing Scream gains up to 30%[x] increased damage and increased speed based on your Movement Speed bonus.
Sigil of Subversion uses Sigil of Lava in this build. This turns the skill into a Hellfire Skill and creates Lava Trails that repeatedly damage enemies.
Thanks to The Eightfold Idol, Blazing Scream can also create these trails. Against Elites and bosses, try to keep important targets on your Lava Trails whenever possible.
Dark Prison uses Chain Aura. This turns it into a Hellfire Skill and creates a moving aura of fire chains around you. It reduces incoming damage from outside the aura and heavily Slows nearby enemies.
Rampage uses Demonic Smash. This turns the skill into a Hellfire mobility attack, puts you into Demonform and supports your Hellfire and Demonform synergies.
The selected Lesser Demon Wrath upgrade also supports your Wrath economy after using Rampage. This helps cover the resource cost of Blazing Scream without making resource generation the main focus of the build.
Metamorphosis is your main damage window. With Destruction Demon, your Hellfire damage is increased while you also take self-damage.
Tip: Use movement actively. It not only helps with positioning but also directly increases Blazing Scream damage through Impact Velocity.
Rotation
Enemy Packs
Metamorphosis → Dark Prison → Sigil of Subversion → Rampage → Blazing Scream
- Activate Metamorphosis to enter Demonform and benefit from your Demonform bonuses.
- Activate Dark Prison so Chain Aura follows you and controls nearby enemies.
- Cast Sigil of Subversion to create Lava Trails through Sigil of Lava.
- Use Rampage to reposition and trigger your Hellfire and Demonform synergies.
- Cast Blazing Scream as often as possible.
- Move through enemy packs while trying to keep enemies on your Lava Trails.
- Keep an eye on the self-damage caused by Metamorphosis.
Elites & Bosses
Metamorphosis → Sigil of Subversion → Dark Prison → Rampage → Blazing Scream
- Activate Metamorphosis for your main damage window.
- Place Sigil of Subversion near the target.
- Activate Dark Prison for additional protection and crowd control.
- Use Rampage to trigger your Hellfire and Demonform synergies.
- Continuously cast Blazing Scream.
- Keep the target on your Lava Trails whenever possible.
- Use Movement Speed actively to increase Blazing Scream damage through Impact Velocity.
- End Metamorphosis before the self-damage becomes dangerous.
Affix Priority
When optimizing your gear, prioritize the following stats:
- Ranks to Blazing Scream
- Maximum Life
- Movement Speed
- Willpower
- Critical Strike Chance
- Critical Strike Damage
- Attack Speed
- Cooldown Reduction
- Resource Cost Reduction
- Armor and Resistances as needed
Maximum Life is valuable both defensively and offensively because the selected Metamorphosis setup benefits from additional Maximum Life.
Movement Speed is a true damage stat in this build. Through Impact Velocity, your Movement Speed bonus directly increases the damage and speed of Blazing Scream.
Willpower remains an important general offensive stat for the Warlock.
Critical Strike stats and Attack Speed further improve your overall offensive scaling.
Resource Cost Reduction is mainly useful if your Blazing Scream resource flow still feels inconsistent. It is not one of the main damage mechanics and should only be prioritized as much as your Wrath economy requires.
Gear Optimization Tip
Build the core Blazing Scream mechanic first. Elegy has the highest priority.
After that, Infernal Homunculus and The Eightfold Idol become especially powerful upgrades. Infernal Homunculus benefits directly from the Archfiend tag granted by Elegy, while The Eightfold Idol connects Blazing Scream with the Lava Trails created by Sigil of Subversion.
Then optimize Ranks to Blazing Scream, Maximum Life, Movement Speed, Willpower and Critical Strike stats.
Do not underestimate Movement Speed. Through Impact Velocity, it improves both your mobility and your Blazing Scream damage.
Also make sure your resource flow feels comfortable. Blazing Scream uses Wrath, but the build supports that resource without requiring the entire setup to revolve around Wrath generation.

How to read and rebuild this Warlock build
This page holds a complete Warlock build for Diablo 4: skill tree, gear with aspects, paragon boards and the class mechanic. Here is how to read each tab and in what order to rebuild it.
The class mechanic: Soul Shards
Soul Shards amplify curses, summons and chaos magic. Which shards are set is shown in the overview below the grid — they are part of the build just like skills and aspects.
Gear, aspects and affixes
The Gear tab lists every slot with its item, aspect and all affixes. Colour marks show what is special about a given line: a Greater Affix (GA) is the fifty-percent stronger roll of an affix, a tempering affix is added at the blacksmith from a manual, and an affix marked for masterworking only takes effect at Masterwork Quality 25 — which is why the planner always shows it at maximum.
Rebuild the gear in this order: uniques and mythics first, since they are fixed, then aspects on the remaining slots, then tempering and masterworking. Aspects can be imprinted from the Codex of Power or extracted from legendaries you find.
Paragon and glyphs
Paragon boards unlock at level 60. How many points this build spends is shown in the header band at the top. What matters is not the individual nodes but the glyphs: their radius grows with glyph level, and their additional bonus only applies once enough attribute points sit inside that radius. A board with the right rotation is therefore worth more than a board with more nodes filled in.
Variants and season
Many builds carry several variants — for example a version without mythics to start out. The bar under the build name switches between them, and skills, gear and paragon all change with it. The version picker in the header shows the build against the data of a given season.
