Season of Slaughter

The seasonal questline grants you The Butcher's power. Complete the quest chain to unlock the Butcher Transformation — a devastating combat form that grows stronger with each kill.

While transformed, you gain massively increased damage, movement speed, and a unique set of abilities inspired by the infamous Butcher encounter. The transformation lasts longer the more enemies you slay, creating a snowball effect of destruction.

Activate the transformation by filling your Bloodlust meter through combat kills. Once full, unleash The Butcher within and carve through hordes of demons. Complete the Rank 5 Capstone Dungeon and unlock Rank 6 to earn Bloody Billy the Pet!

Season 12 introduces a brand-new Killstreak System that rewards continuous combat with escalating bonuses. Chain kills to climb through five tiers of destruction:

Killstreaks reset after a short period of inactivity, so keep moving and keep killing to maintain your bonus tier.

Bloodied Items are the new seasonal item type, featuring exclusive affix categories that enhance the killstreak playstyle:

• Rampage — Increases damage for each enemy killed recently, stacking up to massive bonuses
• Feast — Restores life and resources on kill, with increasing returns at higher killstreak tiers
• Hunger — Extends killstreak timers and lowers the kill threshold needed to reach higher tiers

Bloodied Items can drop from any content but have increased drop rates during active killstreaks, especially at Bloodbath and Massacre tiers.

Slaughterhouses are the new seasonal activity — purpose-built arenas designed for maximum killstreaks. Enter a Slaughterhouse to face waves of increasingly dense enemy packs with minimal downtime between groups.

Each Slaughterhouse run has a time limit and a kill counter. Reach certain kill thresholds to unlock bonus chests, crafting materials, and exclusive Bloodied Item recipes. The highest tier rewards require maintaining a Massacre-level killstreak for extended periods.

Slaughterhouses appear on the map as new waypoints and scale to your character's level and difficulty.

New Bloodied Sigils add a seasonal twist to Nightmare Dungeons. These special sigils contain the Bloodsoaked modifier, which dramatically increases enemy density and spawn rates — perfect for building and maintaining killstreaks.

Bloodsoaked Nightmare Dungeons offer significantly increased XP and loot at the cost of overwhelming enemy numbers. They are the ultimate proving ground for builds optimized around the killstreak system.

Season 12 introduces five new Unique items. All new Uniques this Season are dropped by the new Butcher Lair Boss, who will remain as a permanent Lair boss after Season of Slaughter.

All players gain temporary access to the Paladin class during Season 12 — no Vessel of Hatred purchase required. The trial runs from March 11 to March 18.

Experience the newest class with its three Oaths (Zealot, Arbiter, Juggernaut), powerful Auras, and unique Resolve resource system. The trial includes full access to all Paladin skills, Paragon boards, and class-specific items. Progress carries over if you purchase the expansion.

Rip and tear meets hack and slash. The DOOM x Diablo IV collaboration brings iconic DOOM cosmetics to Sanctuary.

Starting March 12, the cross-class Doom Slayer Armor, the Mecha Dragon Serrat cat mount skin, and the Cacodemon Pet are available in the shop. Three free DOOM emblems can be earned on March 12, 13, and 15.

Progress through Season Ranks to unlock exclusive rewards:

• Helio the Gilded mount
• Blinding Sun Barding mount armor
• Way of the Gilding Stars town portal
• Butcher-themed armor transmogs and weapon skins
• Platinum, crafting materials, and Murmuring Obols

The free track provides substantial rewards, while the premium Battle Pass Reliquary adds additional cosmetics.

Watch Diablo IV streams during the first two weeks of Season 12 to earn Twitch Drops including a unique pet, portrait frame, and cosmetic items. Drops end March 25.

The Season 12 Battle Pass includes tiers of rewards. Premium tier costs 1000 Platinum and grants exclusive Butcher-themed cosmetics not available anywhere else.
