Diablo 4 Rebirth Explained: How It Works in Season 15

Rebirth allows you to bring an existing Diablo 4 character from the Eternal Realm into a new Season. The character moves to the Seasonal Realm and starts again at Level 1, while their class, name, appearance, and selected cosmetic preferences are preserved.

Diablo 4 Rebirth explained

Blizzard calls the system Rebirth in English. The official German version uses the term Reinkarnation. Both terms refer to the same feature.

A character on the Eternal Realm does not normally participate in the current Season. Rebirth is designed to move an existing Eternal character to the Seasonal Realm, where that character begins the new seasonal journey at Level 1.

Rebirth mainly preserves the character’s identity:

• the same Normal or Hardcore mode

Your level, equipment, and completed build do not carry over into the new Season.

Moving the items into your stash keeps them safe on the Eternal Realm. It does not make them available to the character in Season 15.

How to use Rebirth step by step

2. Check whether the character’s class and Normal or Hardcore mode match your plans for the Season.

Does Rebirth work with Hardcore characters?

Yes. Blizzard confirms that a character’s Normal or Hardcore status is preserved during Rebirth.

A Normal character remains Normal, while a Hardcore character remains Hardcore. Rebirth cannot be used to switch between the two modes. Blizzard has not announced any additional rules specifically for Hardcore Rebirths.

Can the same character use Rebirth every Season?
