Overview

The Paladin returns to Diablo 4 as a holy warrior wielding divine powers in combat. Armed with weapon and shield, the Paladin combines melee prowess with powerful Auras that buff allies and debilitate enemies, serving as both a formidable fighter and invaluable support.

Resource: Resolve

Resolve is built through combat actions and spent on powerful abilities. The resource system encourages aggressive engagement, rewarding Paladins who stay in the fight and maintain pressure on enemies.

Oaths

The Oath system defines the Paladin's combat philosophy. Zealot focuses on aggressive, fast-paced offense with rapid strikes. Arbiter emphasizes balanced combat with judgment-based abilities. Juggernaut prioritizes defense and sustained damage through heavy armor and shields. Each Oath modifies how skills behave.

Playstyle

Paladins shine as frontline fighters with strong Aura-based support. Builds range from aggressive Zealot rush-down to defensive Juggernaut fortify stacking, with Arbiter offering a balanced middle ground. The mandatory shield makes Paladins naturally tanky while Auras provide group-wide benefits.

Choose an Oath that defines your playstyle (4 options)

Zealot

Casting Zealot Skills grants Fervor for 2 seconds. Critically Striking with these Skills echoes the attack for an additional 17% of the damage, repeating for each stack of Fervor. While at maximum Fervor, additionally Fortify for 1% of your Maximum Life (1).

Juggernaut

Casting a Juggernaut Skill consumes 8 stacks of Resolve, giving your Juggernaut Skills 60% increased damage and gain 20% increased size for 5 seconds. Your Minimum Resolve is increased by 1 and is no longer consumed when getting hit.

Judicator

Your Basic Skills now apply Judgement. Judgement can now be detonated early by your Core Judicator Skills, dealing 80% weapon damage in a small area and gaining Judicator Skill benefits. Each time you Judge an enemy, increase the damage they take from you by 8%, up to 80% until they die.

Disciple

Casting a Disciple Skill with a cooldown grants Arbiter for 4.5 seconds. Wing Strikes gain Disciple Skill benefits. While in Arbiter form, your Disciple Skills deal 50% increased damage.
